Founded in 1996, The Bones quickly achieved real underground success. Their first self-produced CD which was released only a year later was soon sold out. Labels were checking the popularity of this Swedish four-piece and they immediately were signed by a label. Straight Flush Ghetto is their third label release and the logical follow-up of their quite popular Bigger Than Jesus album. Again they are playing furious punk rock'n'roll in the vein of bands like Ramones, Die Toten Hosen, Rancid and even Social Distortion. All 16 songs on the record are short and there is no time for boring moments. Most songs are played very fast, quieter parts being the exception. I really can't name you a highlight because all songs are played more or less at the same high level. Maybe Viva 13 could become one of my favourite tracks by these cool rockers from the North. You can listen to this album from the start to the finish without getting bored. Rarely before has rock'n'roll sounded fresher. The Backyard Babies get serious competition from their own country.
