If you ever felt like taking a break from reality, got the need to read 18th century German literature and became emotional without any rational explanation, then you might be one of the few people out there who could really enjoy the lyricism of the German two-piece Orplid.

Unfortunately, I rather spend my time with more rational-minded pastimes, and therefore don't find much use in Orplid's art. Granted, they have been releasing albums since 1997, and probably achieved already a respectable fanbase of black-clad white-faced goths, but this combination of acoustic guitar based folk with dark synth wave goth leaves me arctically cold.

Too much lyricism for me, nearly no parts that even try to rock, and these vocals that sound so self-important. Anyone who travels yearly to the Leipzig gothic festival shouldn't mind my words and get this album anyway, but I doubt that I will ever listen to this CD again.
